Advanced Machine and Stretchform International (AMSI) opened its aerospace operations in 1991 in Gardena, California, after acquiring the assets and facilities from what was once Aeronca Aerospace. Today, AMSI continues to serve the aerospace industry by manufacturing components and assemblies for commercial aircraft, military aircraft and space programs through its two business units, AMSI and Hermach Machine, located nearby in Torrance, California.

Markets served include commercial aircraft, regional and business jets, military aircraft, commercial and military helicopters, and space launch vehicles. AMSI’s customer partnerships in the commercial sector include the Boeing 737NG, 747, 757, 767, 777 and the new 787 Dreamliner, Airbus Industries A380, and Bombardier business and regional jets. Military programs include the Boeing C-17, Lockheed Martin F-16, and various Boeing and Augusta helicopter programs. Space programs include the Space Shuttle External Tank and other commercial and military space launch programs.

With the insertion of a new and experienced management team in 2003, AMSI has seen its sales and work force grow by over 300%. Capital investments have enhanced operations and brought sophistication to the company’s processes and systems to meet the expectations of its worldwide customer base. AMSI now designs, engineers and manufactures the largest, most complex contoured structural components in the aerospace industry. Our integrated processes include stretch-forming, thermal-forming, precision fabrication, machining, finishing processes, and integration of components into subassemblies.

AMSI’S Machining operations complement its forming capabilities by using advanced ATA manufacturing processes that combine CAD/CAM engineering and numerically controlled 5-axis precision machining centers to produce large, complex aerospace structural components. We also are equipped to produce large, complex aerospace structural components. We also are equipped to design and fabricate the most sophisticated industry tooling to meet our customers build to print requirements. This “make-complete” culture provides AMSI with a competitive advantage in the aerospace markets. Our investments in sophisticated technology, in talented people, coupled with our commitment to customer service has rapidly made AMSI a valued supplier within the industry.

AMSI’s has a reputation for quality and its systems are approved by most airframe and defense prime contractors. Our quality processes and systems are based on ISO and AS standards which are the recognized industry standards around the world.
